Maddie grew up in Tucker, Georgia and started dancing at the age of five. By eight years old, she landed herself a spot on her studio’s performance company and a leading role in the Christmas show. Having the opportunity to perform in multiple shows a year is what sealed the deal for her love of dance. She studied all styles, but really enjoyed jazz and tap the most.

When she was in middle school, her parents encouraged her to audition for the local performing arts high school: Dekalb School of the Arts. She made it in and joined the Dance Repertory Company during her freshman year. While at DSA, she got to study different techniques from a wide variety of instructors and choreograph her own routines. She also learned time management, because it’s not easy to juggle school dance rehearsals with dance studio classes and homework. Jazz remained her favorite style, and it started to become clear how little that was offered at the collegiate level. Determined to follow her dreams of performing show-stopping numbers more than a few times a year, she began auditioning for jobs post-graduation.

Maddie started a full-time performing job at Walt Disney World just three months later! She spent the next five and a half years dancing down Main Street in parades, grooving with kids at dance parties, and “befriending” several characters from iconic films. Her favorites were Eeyore, Mrs. Incredible, and Joy from Inside Out. She was fortunate enough to open the brand new “Festival of Fantasy Parade” in 2014 as a swan court dancer, and participate in several temporary/seasonal offerings. It was a truly magical and life-changing experience, but it was time to return to Atlanta in 2019. 

She has been teaching dance part-time while making her way into the event industry ever since. Jazz and tap are still her favorites! Maddie is recently married to the man she met on a dating app and fell in love with during a global pandemic. Some good things did come out of 2020! Her husband recently accepted a position at the Warner Robins Air Force Base, so they packed up their belongings and two cats to set out on a new adventure. Maddie has been enjoying the area so far and can’t wait to see what the amazing ASADC can do!
